CHAMPAGNE DINNER AND AUCTION: April 17, 2010
raised $120,000 after expenses to
successfully complete Annual Appeal campaign:
funding a specialized "DEXA" x-ray machine for the hospital to measure bone density and bone loss "closer to home".
Since 1989 Cowichan District Hospital Foundation has invited individuals and businesses in the community to our Champagne Dinner and Auction gala. This event is our major fundraising function to support our local hospital, and
over $1,370,000 has been raised at the Dinner since its inception. In 2007 Shawnigan Lake School invited the Foundation to hold the gala at the school, and this has allowed us to grow the event, with its increasing popularity and to offer a more spectacular auction in this magnificent setting.
Supporters are recognized at the event and in the community newspaper after the event, and throughout the year on our Dinner Auction Donor Board in the Emergency
and Day Surgeries Waiting Room at Cowichan District
Hospital.

Over $1,370,000 has been raised at the Dinner since its' inception supporting our
community hospital. This year, proceeds complete funding the Bone Density Campaign.. You can learn more about this campaign by clicking
here for our Annual
Appeal Campaign. Additionally, Dinner Auction proceeds are also funding two other urgent needs, recently requested by the medical staff: an eye microscope for cataract surgeries and a maternity microscope to support successful pregancies. 900 cataract surgeries are performed annually at Cowichan District Hospital, and over 500 babies are delivered each year at our community hospital.
