Since 1989 Cowichan District Hospital Foundation has invited individuals and businesses in the community to our Champagne Dinner and Auction gala. This event is our major fundraising function supporting our local hospital, and
over $1,500,000 has been raised at the Dinner since its inception. In 2007 Shawnigan Lake School invited the Foundation to hold the gala at the school, and this has allowed us to grow the
event and offer a more spectacular auction in this magnificent setting.
SPONSORS:
Supporters are recognized at the event and in the community newspaper after the event, and throughout the year on our Dinner Auction Donor Board in the Emergency
and Day Surgery Waiting Room at Cowichan District
Hospital.
The Champagne Dinner & Auction gala has grown to be Cowichan Valley's premier fundraising event. 325+ guests bid through silent and live auctions during a fun filled evening. Each year we receive fantastic donations of vacation and weekend getaways, dining and theatre excursions, golf packages, artwork, collectible, jewellery, cash and many other diverse items!

Proceeds from this year’s gala will help fund major improvements to the hospital's Pediatric Ward.
The rooms will be reconfigured with our children and their families in mind. They will be larger and have an extra bed and a private bathroom so mom or dad can spend the night. The new design and renovations will help protect pediatric patients from acquiring infections or spreading infections to other patients and allow our doctors to provide up to date care for our younger patients.
Last year the gala raised $140,000 to fund a new Maternity Clinic and completed our Ultrasound Campaign which reduced the Wait List 25%. The proceeds also contributed to our Orthopaedics Campaign supporting the hospital's expanded surgical team with a new arthroscopic video tower and mini C-arm.
